B2B debt collection
Out-of-court debt collection for business debtors
Van den Bosch | Advies & Incasso carries out out-of-court debt collection exclusively against companies and legal entities (B2B). The aim: to get your invoice paid, with a focus on results and, where possible, preserving your business relationship.
We combine amicable recovery with legal precision. Where an amicable solution is not achievable, litigation or cooperation with enforcement officers may be required.
What can you do yourself to get invoices paid?
Many SMEs prefer to work through the debtor process themselves first — it saves costs and keeps the line short. The standard approach (as described by sources such as Ondernemersplein) is: first contact and a reminder, then a demand letter with a clear deadline, reference to interest and extrajudicial costs where appropriate, and only then external intervention.
The pages below cover each common question in B2B practice — linked together so you can quickly read on.
- Invoice not paid: step-by-step plan Client is not paying, business debtor default — first actions after the due date.
- Payment reminder and demand letter (B2B) Sending a demand letter to a business, letter of formal notice, deadline and proof of delivery.
- Statutory interest and collection costs Interest on outstanding invoices, extrajudicial costs between businesses.
- Debtor management and prevention Preventing non-payment, credit management and tight invoicing for SMEs.

Handing over to us: how the process works
When calls and letters of your own no longer help, it is time to bring in a specialist. Below is the typical process when you transfer your B2B file to us.
- Intake and assessment — brief overview: debtor (legal entity), amount, invoice date, reminders already sent. We assess whether the file is suitable for out-of-court B2B collection.
- File submission — invoice or consolidated invoice, terms from the order or contract, email correspondence, any payment arrangement already made, your general terms and conditions (including the collection clause), and correct debtor details (Chamber of Commerce number, address).
- Starting the instruction — you submit the instruction digitally via our client portal (see button below) or agree the scope in advance by phone or email.
- Amicable phase — targeted demand letter and contact in line with protocol; where appropriate, with reference to interest and costs in accordance with your legal position and industry practice.
- Escalation path — if payment remains outstanding, we discuss judicial enforcement or — where possible — cooperation with enforcement officers for execution following a judgment.
Handing over a file often removes the emotion from the situation: your debtor sees that the matter is being handled seriously, while you free up time for your business.

Frequently asked questions
Do you also collect from private individuals?
No, not for out-of-court collection in the sense of the mandatory collection services register as it applies to consumers. Our amicable collection is directed at companies and legal entities. For litigation involving or against private individuals, you are welcome to contact us — that is a separate process.
What can I do myself before outsourcing?
Start with a reminder, a personal phone call (with a written note), and a clear demand letter with a deadline. See our four topic pages for specific questions and steps tailored to business debtors.
How do I hand over a file?
Read the Handing over to us section above and submit your instruction via the client portal, unless we first discuss by phone what you need to provide.
