Received a letter or email from us?

What does the letter or email mean?

A letter or email from Van den Bosch | Advies & Incasso means that we are contacting you on behalf of a client — a business or organisation — regarding an outstanding amount or an ongoing matter. This may be a payment reminder, a formal demand letter or a notification about a legal step.

The letter or email will always state:

  • on whose behalf we are writing (the client);
  • the amount or matter in question;
  • what we are asking of you and by what date;
  • the file number and the name of the case handler, so you can respond directly.

What type of message have you received?

  • Payment reminder or demand letter — a request to pay an outstanding invoice before a stated date. The sooner you pay or respond, the lower any additional costs will remain.
  • Notice of default — a formal notification that you are in default. Further legal steps may follow if there is no timely response.
  • Notice of intended legal proceedings — a notification that, if you do not respond, we will commence court proceedings. Even at this stage, discussion remains possible.
  • Information request or other correspondence — we sometimes also send letters to request information or to update you on the status of an ongoing file.

What can you do?

  • Respond promptly — do not ignore the letter. The sooner you respond, the more room there is for a good outcome and the lower the final costs will be.
  • Pay — if you are able to pay, please use the payment details in the letter. Unsure about the exact amount? Just get in touch.
  • Request a payment arrangement — unable to pay in one go? Contact us. We will explore what is feasible together with you and present this to our client.
  • Raise an objection or ask a question — do you disagree with the claim, or do you have a question about the letter? Let us know. We take your response seriously and will discuss it with our client.

Do not wait until the deadline stated in the letter has passed — after that point, further steps may be taken that will incur additional costs.
