Legal advice
Advice that helps you make informed decisions
Legal issues take time and energy. At Van den Bosch | Advies & Incasso you receive concrete, actionable advice on your position, the possible outcomes and the sequence of steps — from negotiation through to proceedings if necessary. We work for private individuals, sole traders and businesses, with attention to both substance (contract and statute) and practical considerations (relationship, reputation, timeframe).
The information on this page is general in nature and is not a substitute for advice on your specific matter.
Areas in which we advise
Practice regularly gives rise to recurring themes. For each theme you will find a page with common questions, points to consider and links to related services.
- Contract law Contracts, performance, breach, termination, damages and liability.
- Non-payment and claims Overdue invoices, payment arrangements, notice of default and debt collection — with attention to B2B versus consumer contexts.
- Tenancy law Residential and commercial tenancy law, rent arrears, negotiation and — where necessary — further action.
- Consumer law Purchase of goods or services, warranties, right of withdrawal and information obligations.
For drafting or reviewing documents, see: Contracts & documents.
Working method
Many law firms and legal practices follow a similar approach: first fact-gathering, then legal assessment, then advice with options (for example settlement, formal notice or summons). We work in the same way.
- Intake — a brief explanation of your question; we indicate whether and how we can help.
- Documents — you provide contracts, correspondence, invoices and a timeline so that the file is complete.
- Analysis — an assessment of your rights, evidence and risks; we also identify alternative scenarios.
- Next steps — concrete follow-up actions, where necessary in conjunction with litigation or B2B extrajudicial debt collection.
On request we provide a second opinion on prior advice or a draft strategy.
Fees and transparency
Costs depend on the complexity and the level of depth required (verbal overview, written advice, negotiation, proceedings). We make clear arrangements in advance regarding fees and — where applicable — disbursements. No hidden cost structure: if the scope changes, we adjust in good time.
Location and reach
We are based in De Bilt and work nationwide; much of our contact takes place digitally and by telephone. See Service area for your region.
Frequently asked questions
What is legal advice and what can I do with it?
Legal advice helps you understand which rules apply to your situation, what your rights and obligations are and which next steps are sensible — for example a written notice of default, amicable discussion, mediation or proceedings. The aim is for you to make an informed choice, tailored to your interests and risks.
Can I come to you as a private individual or only as a business?
You may approach us as a private individual, sole trader or business. Please note: extrajudicial debt collection against natural persons is subject to statutory restrictions; we are not registered in the debt collection register. Litigation and legal representation — including against or by private individuals — can form part of our practice and connects seamlessly with our legal advice.
How quickly will I receive a response and what should I bring to the first consultation?
Please get in touch by telephone or e-mail. For the first consultation, documents such as contracts, correspondence, invoices and a timeline are relevant. The more complete the picture, the more targeted the advice. Urgent matters are discussed as soon as possible.
Do you work only in De Bilt or also elsewhere?
Our base is De Bilt; much of our work is nationwide, by telephone and digitally. For proceedings, the jurisdiction of courts and tribunals applies according to the applicable procedural rules.
When are proceedings necessary?
Not every dispute goes to court. Sometimes a settlement or summary proceedings do not suffice. We advise on when litigating is worthwhile in terms of costs, prospects and timeframe, and when amicable routes still have a chance. See Litigation for our role in this.
